Fatal crash on Highway 680 offramp in Pleasant Hill
A fatal accident occurred when a man's vehicle crashed and flipped over on an off-ramp from northbound Interstate Highway 680 in Pleasant Hill on Tuesday morning. California Highway Patrol officials reported the incident at 8:14 a.m. on the Monument Boulevard off-ramp. After an investigation, it was found that the man, driving a silver Lexus SUV in the slow lane on the highway, veered towards the off-ramp, lost control of the vehicle, and it overturned after going up an embankment. The man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and tragically passed away at the scene. The victim's identity was not disclosed at that time. Following the crash, the off-ramp was closed for a little over two hours.
