Fatal crash on Des Moines southside
A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred on the southside of Des Moines on Thursday afternoon, resulting in the death of one individual. The incident, which took place at approximately 2:31 p.m. on Bloomfield Road, prompted responses from both the Des Moines Police Department and Fire Department. The vehicle involved had veered off the road and collided with a utility pole. Tragically, the driver, who was the only occupant, did not survive. Bloomfield Road was closed east of SE 14th Street as of 3:40 p.m. to allow responders to investigate and clear the area. Further details have not yet been provided.
