Fatal crash occurs after two individuals evade Larimer County deputies
Two individuals lost their lives in a tragic accident that occurred after a pursuit with Larimer County deputies early Sunday morning, as reported by the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. The incident began when a deputy observed a vehicle with missing lights and no license plate at approximately 4:15 a.m. near East 57th Street and North Garfield Avenue in Loveland. The deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver turned off the lights and fled at high speed. Despite the deputy's efforts to signal the vehicle to stop, the driver managed to escape for several miles, reaching speeds of up to 120 mph on northbound Interstate 25 before eventually crashing near Pheasant Crest Drive and Weld County Road 84 after losing control of the vehicle and hitting a power pole. The crash caused the vehicle to roll, resulting in the two occupants being thrown from the vehicle. Sadly, one individual died at the scene, and the other succumbed to injuries after being transported to a hospital. A third occupant was rescued and taken to a medical facility, but the extent of their injuries was not disclosed by the sheriff's office. It was noted that deputies did not engage with the vehicle or employ any intervention methods prior to the accident.
