Fatal crash near Fairbury claims life of Gibson City woman
A woman from Gibson City tragically passed away after a car accident in Livingston County. The incident occurred at the intersection of 600 North Road and 2200 East Road near Fairbury on March 29. The crash involved two vehicles, with one failing to stop at a stop sign, resulting in a collision with another vehicle driven by a 67-year-old man. The vehicles veered off the road, with the northbound vehicle striking a utility pole. The 67-year-old passenger of the northbound vehicle, Jerrie Enghausen, lost her life in the accident. The driver was treated and is in stable condition in an ICU in Peoria. Emergency services including Fairbury Fire and Ambulance, Fairbury Police, Livingston County Sheriff's Office, and State Police responded to the scene. The eastbound driver received a citation for disregarding a stop sign.
