Fatal crash near Brenham claims life of Roundtop woman - KWKT
A tragic incident in rural Washington County, near Brenham, has claimed the life of a 63-year-old woman, identified as Rebecca Mayer from Round Top. According to the Department of Public Safety, the collision took place on Farm to Market Road 389 close to FM 2502 at approximately 5:35 p.m. Mayer, who was driving a 2023 Kia Soul going eastbound on FM 389, collided with a 2015 Ford F150 pickup making a left turn from the westbound direction. The Kia caught fire after the impact, and Mayer was later pronounced dead at a hospital. The driver of the pickup sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment.
