Fatal crash: Mini-bike rider hit, killed on Northwest Freeway
Houston police are currently investigating a tragic accident that took place on the Northwest Freeway Tuesday evening. According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the incident occurred on the service road of the Northwest Freeway at Spring Cypress. Officials reported that a pickup truck, identified as a Ford F-150, was heading west on the service road when it collided with a dirt bike or mini bike being ridden by a Black male. The bike failed to yield the right of way as the truck was making a right turn into a private drive, resulting in the fatal collision. The rider of the dirt bike was found underneath the truck and sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Speed was ruled out as a factor in the crash, and the driver of the truck showed no signs of impairment. The victim's identity has not yet been disclosed.
