Fatal crash leads to suspect's death in officer-involved shooting

A suspect was killed in a police standoff and fatal crash at Interstate 480 and Tiedeman Road, resulting in an officer-involved shooting on Tuesday. The Brooklyn Police Department was called to assist the Parma Heights Police Department after a Black F-150 pickup truck crashed at the intersection, with the driver threatening self-harm by pointing a gun at his head. The individual, identified as Patrick Kerr, 45, had a history of threatening suicide by cop. Despite attempts to peacefully resolve the situation, the man exited his vehicle with a gun after about four hours and was shot by a tactical officer. The suspect was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation will look into the incident. Following the incident, traffic delays were reported in the area, with the situation eventually being resolved.
