Fatal crash involving two women near Rate Field
Two women were tragically killed in a car accident near Rate Field on Chicago's South Side. The incident occurred late Sunday evening on West 35th Street. A red sedan, driven by a 24-year-old woman with a 21-year-old female passenger, veered out of control and collided with a black SUV being driven by an adult male. Emergency responders provided initial treatment at the scene before transporting the women to Stroger Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. The passenger has been identified as Natalia Andrea Acevedo Mendez, while the driver's identity has not been disclosed. The two men in the SUV sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to University of Chicago Hospital for treatment. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
