Fatal Crash Involving Stalled Big Rig in Riverside County
A deadly collision between a sedan and a semi-truck occurred late Wednesday night on a Riverside County freeway, resulting in the tragic death of one individual. Reports from the California Highway Patrol revealed that the sedan was severely lodged under the semi-truck's trailer on the right-hand shoulder of the westbound 91 Freeway at La Sierra Avenue. The sedan sustained significant damage, with the top half crushed back to its midpoint. Sadly, officers found the driver deceased at the scene, leading to the closure of the third westbound lane until early Thursday morning. The crash, which is currently under investigation, involved no other reported injuries. The identity of the driver has not been disclosed. The semi-truck driver was unharmed and mentioned that he had pulled over to attend to his lights when the collision occurred. As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, there were no disruptions to traffic at the crash site as per Caltrans QuickMap.
