Fatal Crash in Madison County Involving 2 Motorcycles
A fatal motorcycle accident occurred on August 23, 2025, in Madison County, resulting in the death of one individual. The collision took place near mile marker 52 of Montana Highway 41, just south of Silver Star, at approximately 1:35 p.m. The incident involved a 49-year-old man from Cardwell operating a Kawasaki and a 61-year-old man from Harrison driving a Harley Davidson, both traveling northbound. The Kawasaki rider was in the process of turning around when the Harley rider collided with the Kawasaki, causing both motorcycles to tip over and slide across the southbound lanes onto the shoulder. The injured riders were transported to Ruby Valley Medical Center in Sheridan, where the driver of the Harley succumbed to his injuries the following day. The identity of the deceased individual has not been disclosed. The Montana Highway Patrol confirmed that neither rider was wearing a helmet, and alcohol or drugs were not contributing factors to the accident.
