Fatal crash in Fresno involving wrong-way driver injuries 2

A man has died and two others were taken to the hospital following a tragic head-on collision on Highway 99 in Fresno on Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. The incident was reported around 2 p.m. when authorities received reports of a driver traveling in the wrong direction on Highway 99. Soon after, the wrong-way driver crashed south of Clinton Avenue. Investigators determined that a 59-year-old Fresno man was driving his Ford Ranger in the wrong direction, leading to the collision with two other vehicles. Unfortunately, the wrong-way driver later passed away at a local hospital, while the conditions of the other two drivers remain unknown. Authorities are still investigating the incident to determine if alcohol or drugs played a role, pending toxicology results.
