Fatal crash in Carroll County results in 2 fatalities
Two individuals tragically lost their lives following a multi-vehicle collision in Carroll County last Friday, as confirmed by Maryland State Police. The driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck, identified as Nicholas Standiford, 25, from Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, was fatally injured at the crash site. Reports indicate that a Ford pickup truck veered from southbound to northbound lanes on Maryland Route 30 at approximately 7:45 a.m, resulting in a chain reaction collision involving a dump truck and the Chevrolet pickup truck. The fatalities included the driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck and a passenger in the dump truck. In response, injured individuals were airlifted to Shock Trauma, while road closures lasted around five hours. Investigations are currently underway by the Maryland State Police Crash Team to determine the cause of the incident.
