Fatal crash in Blue Earth County claims life of Farmington woman
Authorities report that a fatal crash occurred late Friday morning in Blue Earth County involving a woman from Farmington, Minnesota. The Minnesota State Patrol informed that the incident took place just after 10 a.m. on Highway 14 near Highway 60 in Le Ray Township. The accident involved an eastbound Lexus sedan and a westbound semi-collision on the highway. The agency states that factors leading up to the crash are unknown. The victim, identified as 20-year-old Valerie Caven, was driving the sedan and tragically passed away. No passengers were in the vehicle with her. The State Patrol confirmed that the 46-year-old male driver of the semi from St. Peter did not sustain any injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and there is no indication of alcohol involvement, according to the report. Weather conditions were dry at the time of the accident.
