Fatal Crash Closes Route 9A After Tree Falls On Car In Hudson Valley (DEVELOPING)

A fatal crash investigation shut down a stretch of Route 9A in Westchester County during the morning commute on Monday, March 16. The crash happened on southbound Route 9A in Mount Pleasant between Bedford Road (Route 117) and the Saw Mill River Parkway, according to 511NY traffic reports. All lanes of the roadway were closed as of about 7:37 a.m. on Monday, March 16, while authorities investigated the fatal crash and crews responded to a tree down in the roadway.  The closure remained in effect as of 8:10 a.m., according to the latest update from transportation officials.  No additional details about the crash or who was killed have been released.  This is a developing story.
