Fatal crash claims life of man in south Austin on Thursday
A man tragically lost his life in a deadly accident that took place in south Austin on Thursday night, as reported by Austin police. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. at the crossing of S. Lamar Boulevard and Gibson Street. Following a collision between two vehicles, one of them crashed into a concrete retaining wall. The driver of that vehicle, whose identity has not been disclosed, was declared deceased at the site of the crash. Fortunately, the driver and passenger in the second vehicle escaped unharmed, confirmed the police. This fatal incident marks the 19th crash in Austin this year, leading to a total of 23 fatalities.
