Fatal crash: Belleview resident dies in head-on accident
The Florida Highway Patrol is looking into a fatal crash that occurred early Saturday morning, resulting in the death of a 40-year-old man and hospitalization of three others. The incident took place on County Road 42 just west of SE 160th Avenue Road. A pickup truck driven by a 29-year-old woman from Lake County crossed the center highway line around 2:40am and collided head-on with a car in the westbound lane. The car's driver passed away at the scene, while his passenger sustained critical injuries and was taken to the hospital. The occupants of the pickup truck were also seriously injured and hospitalized. The deceased victim was identified as being from Belleview. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
