
Fatal collision in Live Oak County takes lives of two young individuals
A tragic incident occurred late Wednesday night on Middle Road, resulting in the deaths of two young passengers. A vehicle driven by Elias Chapa Jr., 19, veered off the road just northeast of County Road 103. Elias was with Marcos Chapa, 18, and a 12-year-old when the car swerved to avoid a deer. The vehicle hit a fence and rolled over, causing Marcos and the 12-year-old to be ejected and die at the scene. Elias was injured and taken to Christus Spohn Hospital, where he was arrested for intoxication and charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter. The Texas Department of Safety is investigating the crash.
