Fatal collision closes Colonial Dr. at Hiawassee intersection
A fatal accident caused the closure of Colonial Drive in both directions at Hiawassee Road in Orlando. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at 6:30 a.m. One individual died on-site, while a passenger from the same vehicle succumbed to injuries after being hospitalized. Motorists are advised to steer clear of that portion of SR-50 and instead utilize Powers Drive and Apopka Vineland Road as detours.
