Fatal Clinton Highway crash under THP investigation
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Monday along Clinton Highway in Knox County. Rural Metro Fire Captain Jeff Bagwell said that one person died in the crash on Clinton Highway between Old Callahan Drive and Beaver Creek Drive. The crash was reported just after 4 p.m. The Tennessee Department of Transportation SmartWay Map listed a single-vehicle crash along Clinton Highway at Pleasant Ridge Road with closures for both directions of travel. TDOT spokesperson Mark Nagi said the roadway reopened just before 8 p.m. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
