Fatal Bardstown crash leaves woman dead, driver critically injured
Authorities reported that an unfortunate incident occurred early Saturday morning in Bardstown, resulting in the death of a 27-year-old woman and serious injuries to a man. The Kentucky State Police were called to the scene on W. Stephen Foster Avenue following a single-vehicle crash at around 4:40 a.m. EDT on June 21. It was determined that Jason Wurts lost control of a 2022 Hyundai Elantra, leading to the vehicle veering off the road and colliding with a tree and another unoccupied vehicle. Wurts was airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition, while the woman, identified as Morgan and also in the car, was taken to Flaget Hospital, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries. The Kentucky State Police Post 4 is actively investigating the incident, with Trooper Jesse Harp spearheading the reconstruction efforts.
