Fatal accident on I-49 in DeSoto Parish due to dense fog
In DeSoto Parish, Louisiana, early morning fog has resulted in a series of accidents, including a fatal one. The incident occurred on the early hours of Wednesday, November 5, when multiple accidents were reported to dispatch. The DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office stated that these accidents happened on Interstate 49 at the southern part of DeSoto Parish. The first crash occurred close to mile marker 162, followed by an overturned 18-wheeler. Officials suspect that the chain of events was likely triggered by dense fog, making driving difficult for early morning commuters. So far, only one fatality has been confirmed, and another victim is receiving medical treatment. The severity of their injuries is currently unknown.
