Fatal accident on Briley Parkway
A fatal crash in Davidson County has caused a portion of Briley Parkway to be closed on Sunday afternoon, according to officials. Tennessee Department of Transportation reported the closure at 3:40 p.m., stating that Briley Parkway was blocked in both directions at East Thompson Lane and Southlake Drive due to the crash. However, the TDOT's SmartWay map showed that the eastbound and westbound lanes on State Route 155, identified as Thompson Lane at that location, were closed near Mashburn Road. Metro Nashville Police Department confirmed one fatality at the scene and stated that the crash is under investigation. TDOT is assisting with road closures and advised drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. Further details on the crash have not been provided at this time.
