Fatal accident in Howard County
A fatal crash occurred on IH-20 at mile marker 176 in Howard, Texas, on October 25. According to initial reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident involved a 2019 Ford F-250 with a trailer driven by Jose Christian Jasso Jasso, aged 30, from Snyder, Texas. The Ford F-250 was parked on the improved shoulder of IH-20 at mile marker 176 when Jasso was struck by a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound in the outside lane. The collision resulted in the Chevrolet Silverado also hitting the Ford F-250 before rolling over. Jasso tragically lost his life at the scene as he was walking towards the rear of the towed trailer. The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and there are no further details available at this time. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, Alejandro Hernandez, 24 years old from Laredo, Texas, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Big Spring for treatment. Thankfully, the other occupants of the Ford F-250 did not suffer any injuries.
