Fatal 18-wheeler crash closes parts of I-49 South in Shreveport
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - One person is dead after a major crash on I-49 South early Friday morning. According to dispatch records, emergency crews responded to the accident just before 1:30 a.m. Our news crew on the scene confirmed two 18-wheelers were involved in the crash, resulting in the death of one person. Shreveport DOT posted on X around 4 a.m. saying I-49 South remained closed before Dr. Martin Luther King Drive for a large part of Friday morning, causing drivers to be diverted onto LA Highway 1.
