FAA investigates aviation accident at Trigger Gap Airfield; multiple agencies respond
The Carroll County Central Dispatch received a notification of an aviation accident at the Trigger Gap Airfield in Berryville on Monday, May 25, at about 6:16 p.m. According to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, it resulted in two occupants requiring medical treatment from sustained injuries. It was reported that an airplane was taking off from the airfield when the accident occurred. One individual received an airlift by Survival Flight, and the second occupant received transportation by ground ambulance. An update on their conditions has not been made public at this time. Deputies with CCSO assisted in the response, including Carroll County Office of Emergency Management, Mennonite Disaster Service, Berryville Fire Department, Green Forest Fire Department, Oak Grove Fire Department, and Southern Paramedic Service Survival Flight-Eureka Springs. The Federal Aviation Administration is leading an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
