ESPN analyst Matt Miller’s arm amputated after car crash

(NewsNation) — ESPN NFL draft analyst Matt Miller revealed Tuesday that he had his left arm amputated after a serious car accident in Missouri last week. In a post on X, Miller said he was airlifted to the hospital after the crash and called himself "incredibly fortunate" to have survived. He said the crash left him with multiple fractures and broken ribs, and that doctors performed a "life-saving" amputation of his left arm. He said he's now taking recovery "one day at a time." The crash happened Wednesday afternoon in Jasper County, Missouri, where Miller's Ford Bronco crossed over the center line and crashed into a semi-truck, according to KOAM. The semi driver was uninjured. Despite the long recovery ahead, Miller said he's looking forward to getting back to work, including coverage of the 2027 NFL Draft class. Miller joined ESPN as a year-round draft analyst in 2022. He hasn't said when he expects to return to the air.
