Ellington man killed in wrong-way crash on I-91 South

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — An Ellington man died after driving a minibike the wrong way on I-91 South early Saturday morning in Hartford, police said. According to the Connecticut State Police, at approximately 12:54 a.m. a Lexus ES 300 was traveling south of the ramp from the Whitehead Highway in the left lane of I-91 South.  At that time a Honda minibike driven by 22-year-old Colby James David Upson was traveling north in the southbound lanes and collided with the Lexus in the left lane. Upson became separated from the minibike and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Lexus refused medical treatment. Both cars were towed from the scene. State police are still investigating the crash and are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact trooper John Wilson at [email protected].
