
Elderly woman killed in Southwest DC collision
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- A woman died after being hit by a car in Southwest D.C. Wednesday afternoon, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said. Police responded to the intersection of 6th and M streets SW just after 3:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. There, they found a woman suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was unconscious and not breathing when police arrived, and she was pronounced dead at the scene, despite life-saving efforts. Though MPD did not know her exact age, a spokesperson confirmed with DC News Now that she was elderly. The vehicle involved stayed at the scene.
