El Salvador man arrested by FBI, ICE one year after suspected fatal accident
In Indianapolis, a man identified as Alexis Otoniel Hernandez-Araujo, who is said to be in the United States illegally according to the FBI, has been arrested more than a year after being involved in a fatal accident. The incident occurred on July 6, 2024, when Hernandez-Araujo, allegedly driving under the influence, crashed into another vehicle on Reisner Street, causing the death of his 19-year-old brother and injuring a pregnant woman and two children. Despite initial detention after the crash, he was not officially arrested until a recent joint operation by the FBI and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Hernandez-Araujo now faces multiple felony charges related to drunk driving and causing serious injuries and death.
