
DUI suspect charged after fatal Rutherford County collision
A man is facing multiple charges following a collision on Wednesday in Rutherford County, Tennessee. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported that a 2025 Volvo truck was traveling east on Murfreesboro Road and ran a red light, striking a 2012 Ford Fiesta at the Fergus Road intersection. The driver of the Ford, 66-year-old Michael Silver, tragically lost his life in the crash while his 41-year-old passenger sustained injuries. The driver of the Volvo, 37-year-old Michael Alexander Gawlick of Illinois, also sustained injuries and is now facing charges including vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, and DUI.
