Driver killed in single-vehicle rollover crash on I-270

A driver is dead after a high-speed, single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 270 Saturday morning, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Dallas Baldwin said a white 2019 BMW X3 was traveling southbound approaching State Route 161 at approximately 10:07 a.m. when the driver lost control. The vehicle slid off the west side of the highway, struck a wall and a concrete sign support, and rolled onto its roof. The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was rushed by Westerville medics to Mount Carmel East Hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead at 10:41 a.m. Crews remained on the scene midday Saturday clearing the wreckage to reopen the southbound lanes. The crash remains under investigation.
