Driver killed in single-vehicle accident on East Lake Road
One man is dead after crashing on East Lake Road around 3:30 this afternoon. According to a Pennsylvania State Police report, the driver was traveling at high speed and left the roadway before hitting a utility pole and a tree, finally stopping in a ditch. According to Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Hawryliw, the person in the car was heavily trapped. Crews were able to free the person, who was then transported to UPMC Hamot, where he was later pronounced dead.
