Driver injured in crash with UDOT incident management truck on I-15 near Centerville

A driver suffered minor injuries after colliding with a Utah Department of Transportation incident management truck on Interstate 15. UDOT first reported the crash just after 7 a.m. on Monday. John Gleason, a spokesperson with UDOT, said the truck was struck by the SUV while assisting a stranded motorist near the scene. Photos from the scene showed the crash caused extensive damage to the front passenger side of the SUV and the rear driver's side of the incident management truck. Three of four southbound lanes were blocked in the area as crews worked to clear and investigate the scene. All lanes have since been reopened. The damaged incident management truck has since been towed to the traffic operations center in Salt Lake. Gleason added that this was the second UDOT vehicle struck within the last 24 hours. On Sunday night, a vehicle belonging to crews working on Express Lanes in Utah County was also hit by a vehicle. Details on that crash were not made immediately available. _____
