Driver in deadly Minneapolis DUI accident facing deportation before trial commencement

Authorities are deporting a man accused of causing a fatal accident while driving under the influence and being in the country illegally, before his trial in Hennepin County court. White House officials criticized Hennepin County for not honoring an ICE retainer request, while county authorities view the federal government's response as excessive. The accused, German Adriano Llangari Inga, a citizen of Ecuador, was arrested after a deadly crash in Minneapolis in August 2024. Court dates for him in Hennepin County have been canceled. The Hennepin County Attorney's Office expressed regret over the deportation, as it denies justice to the victim's loved ones. Inga is currently in ICE custody awaiting deportation to Ecuador.
