Driver dies following crash on Centerville Turnpike in Chesapeake
CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY)-- A driver has died following a crash on Centerville Turnpike in Chesapeake. According to police, officers and firefighters were called to the 400 block of Centerville Turnpike at 6:40 a.m. for the report of a two-vehicle crash between a Ford F150 and a Ford F250. When officials arrived on scene, they observed life-saving efforts underway for the driver of the Ford F150. The fire department took over live-saving measures and transported the victim to a local hospital where they later died. The driver of the Ford F250 sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Centerville Turnpike is currently closed between the 400 and 500 blocks. The Chesapeake Police Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating.
