A man in Winston-Salem has been found guilty of various charges following a tragic crash that occurred. Codey Phillip-Wayne Jones was convicted of second-degree murder, felony death by vehicle, driving while impaired, and reckless driving. He received a sentence of 196 to 248 months for second-degree murder and 120 days for driving while impaired. The incident took place on US 52 North where a passenger, Victoria Rose Brown, tragically lost her life. Witnesses reported seeing Jones driving erratically and under the influence, leading to the fatal crash. It was revealed that he was driving at high speeds with a blood-alcohol concentration above the legal limit and with amphetamines in his system. Prior traffic violations and license suspensions were also noted, underscoring Jones' history of reckless driving behavior.
