Driver charged with DUI manslaughter after deadly Tampa collision

A man was arrested by Tampa police in connection with a collision that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist early Saturday morning. According to a statement from the Tampa Police Department, the incident occurred when Mauricus Labron Green, aged 50, was driving an SUV west on East County Line Road in north Tampa around 2:30 a.m. At the same time, a male motorcyclist was traveling east on the same road towards Grand Hampton Drive. Green made a southbound turn onto Grand Hampton Drive and collided with the motorcyclist as he entered the intersection. The motorcyclist was later pronounced dead at a local hospital due to his injuries. While the police have not disclosed the identity of the deceased motorcyclist, they stated that Green displayed signs of impairment and was taken into custody on charges of DUI manslaughter and refusal to undergo testing. Green was subsequently placed under arrest on Saturday and was released on Sunday night after posting a $75,150 bond for both charges based on jail records.
