Driver charged following car accident on Jefferson Ave.
A driver has been charged following a vehicle collision at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and J. Clyde Morris Boulevard in Newport News, Virginia. The incident occurred on Friday morning around 2:30 a.m. Police responded to reports of the crash where a pickup truck driver ran a red light and collided with a dump truck, causing the dump truck to overturn. The pickup truck driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The dump truck driver suffered minor injuries but is expected to recover. Charges are being considered against the pickup truck driver, as per authorities.
