Driver arrested for fatal NKY head-on crash that killed 2
BRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) — A man has been arrested in connection with a head-on crash in Bracken County that killed two people last week, Kentucky State Police said. Brandon Barrett, 40, was arrested Wednesday after being released from UK Medical Center, where he was treated for injuries sustained in the June 27 crash. According to state police, Barrett crossed the double yellow line on the AA Highway and collided head-on with a Kia. The driver of the Kia, Tyler Smith, and his passenger, Emily Smith, died at the scene. Barrett has been charged with two counts of reckless homicide and one count of wanton endangerment.
