Driver apprehended following deadly DUI collision in Carlsbad
In Carlsbad, California, a man tragically lost his life in the early hours of Saturday due to a collision between two vehicles. The Carlsbad Police Department arrested the driver of one of the vehicles, Philip Webb, on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter. The incident occurred at the intersection of La Costa Avenue and Piraeus Street at around 5:20 a.m. The driver of the other vehicle, a Nissan pickup truck, was taken to the hospital where he later passed away. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities suspect that alcohol played a role in the crash. Witnesses are urged to come forward to assist in the investigation.
