Double-fatal Highway 33 crash renews concerns over dangerous Kingfisher County intersection
Was a dangerous intersection on Highway 33 to blame for a crash that left two people dead Monday? On Monday afternoon, a double-fatal crash shut down the highway for hours. Those who live in the area said this is not the first time a collision has happened in the area. Troopers said a pickup-truck driver was stopping on Highway 33 to turn onto the "Calumet Blacktop" when another car hit them before crashing into an oncoming semi. "The second vehicle avoided the first vehicle, which was coming to a stop. (The second vehicle) struck the back of that first vehicle, and then entered the lane of eastbound traffic, striking the semi," Lt. Mark Southall with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said. >> Video Below: OHP identifies two people killed in crash involving semi in Kingfisher CountyThe two people killed were identified as 20-year-old Alysha Bidwell-McDonagh and 23-year-old Alexus Pendleton from Greenfield.
