A tragic boating accident on Lake Tahoe over the weekend claimed the lives of DoorDash executive Joshua Antony Pickles, 37, who served as the global head of strategic sourcing and procurement at the company, along with members of his family. The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that Joshua, his parents Paula Bozinovich and Terry Pickles, his uncle Peter Bayes, and four other individuals passed away in the incident. The accident occurred when the boat capsized in South Lake Tahoe near D.L. Bliss State Park on Saturday afternoon amidst high waves reaching 8 feet. The company expressed deep sadness over the loss of Joshua, praising his positive influence on his coworkers and vowing to cherish his memory. The family was reportedly celebrating a birthday on Joshua's boat when the tragic weather conditions led to the boat being overwhelmed by waves. Joshua's wife, Jordan Sugar-Carlsgaard, shared their devastation over the heartbreaking event.
