Delmar woman faces manslaughter charges in deadly February Amsterdam crash

A woman from Delmar, New York, Veronica Armbruster, was arrested by New York State Police on Friday for her involvement in a deadly crash on the Thruway in February. The incident occurred on I-90 in Amsterdam, where Armbruster allegedly crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a car driven by Cole Sevigny from Hudson, New Hampshire. Both individuals sustained serious injuries, and Sevigny tragically passed away later at the hospital. Investigations revealed that Armbruster had a blood alcohol level of 0.16% at the time of the crash. She turned herself in on May 9 and is facing charges of manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, DWI, and various traffic violations. Armbruster was arraigned in Amsterdam City Court and is currently in Montgomery County Jail on bail.
