Death of Sheboygan teenager in Manitowoc County accident
A tragic accident took place early Saturday morning, Jan. 10, in Manitowoc County, resulting in the loss of a 17-year-old girl from Sheboygan. The incident occurred on State Highway 32/57 near Cemetery Road just east of Kiel at approximately 7 a.m. Reports from the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office indicate that the teenager was driving south when she lost control of her vehicle, veered into the median, and entered the northbound lanes, where her car was struck by an SUV. Tragically, the young driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The 65-year-old male driver of the SUV, a resident of Port Washington, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The authorities are currently investigating the crash, with the Wisconsin State Patrol handling the crash reconstruction process.
