Death of LendingTree CEO and founder Doug Lebda in ATV crash
LendingTree's CEO and founder, Doug Lebda, passed away in an ATV accident on his family's North Carolina farm, the online loaning company confirmed. Lebda, who was 55 years old, was remembered as a visionary leader who revolutionized the financial services industry with his innovation and dedication. Scott Peyree, previously the chief operating officer and president, has now been appointed CEO. Lebda established LendingTree in 1996 following a challenging experience obtaining a mortgage for his first home, with a goal of streamlining the process. He is survived by his wife and three daughters.
