Deadly Memorial Day Collision
Details of an incident in South Gate, where a fatal two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Garfield Avenue and Imperial Highway resulting in one death and one injured individual. Responders were dispatched at 6:28 am, and one person was declared dead at the scene. The injured person was taken to a hospital. According to reports, the crash may have been linked to a prior domestic dispute in Paramount involving the suspect, who fled when deputies arrived. The suspect could not be located.
