Deadly incident at Hess Oil facility in Tioga
A man from Watford City tragically lost his life in a workplace accident on a Hess Oil Company pipeline site near Tioga, as reported by authorities. The Mountrail County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call around 10:35 a.m. regarding a worker who was injured by pipeline equipment at the intersection of 101st Avenue Northwest and 68th Street Northwest in rural Tioga. Emergency responders discovered the man with severe bleeding, and he was transported by Tioga Ambulance Service to Tioga Medical Center, where he passed away. The incident took place while the crew was conducting routine maintenance. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration will investigate the accident. The man’s identity is being withheld until his family is notified, and his body has been sent to the North Dakota Forensic Examiner’s Office in Bismarck for an autopsy.
