Deadly crash reported in Winston-Salem, officers say
An investigation is underway after a deadly crash, according to officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department.Officers said they responded to U.S. 52 near Motor Road on June 2. Upon arrival, officers found a two-vehicle crash.Officers said the driver of one of the vehicles, Thomas Smith III, was found unresponsive. He died at the hospital.Officers said the other driver was not injured.Officers determined that Smith's vehicle was traveling northbound when, for unknown reasons, it drove off the road and hit the median guardrail.
