Deadly collision with tree on Auberry Road near Meadow Lakes in Fresno County
A tragic incident occurred in Fresno County, California early Wednesday morning as a 22-year-old individual lost their life in a car crash when a pickup truck struck a tree on Auberry Road near Meadow Lakes. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 1:45 a.m. when a Toyota T100, driven by a 21-year-old man from Clovis, failed to negotiate a curve and veered off the road, hitting a tree before rolling down a 200-foot embankment. Firefighters from the Auberry Volunteer Fire Department had to rescue the occupants from the overturned pickup. The 22-year-old passenger in the rear seat, who was not wearing a seat belt, tragically suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a front-seat passenger sustained moderate to major injuries and were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
