Deadly accident on San Mateo-Hayward Bridge closes all lanes heading west
A multiple vehicle collision occurred on the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge, resulting in at least one fatality and the temporary closure of all westbound lanes, authorities reported. The crash occurred around 3 p.m. in the middle of the bridge, blocking all three lanes heading in the opposite direction. Westbound traffic was redirected to Clawiter Road in Hayward.
